247 Garment Technologist

As a Garment Technologist at 247, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of fit, quality, and performance. Working closely with the product development and design teams, you’ll support the technical process from initial concept through to final sample including fit sessions, spec creation, and quality control. Main Accountabilities
- To manage & develop the fit, size & function of styles from concept to launch.
- To provide accurate size charts with consistent size grading for new developments which form part of the tech packs to suppliers.
- Bring to market, world class, fit for purpose product, built and engineered to 247/Represent standards. Keeping up to date with all new developments within the sports/performance wear categories.
- To attend prototype review meetings, size set, PP and production sample meetings and take the technical lead in all fit sessions. Fitting garments to a high standard, gathering accurate feedback to provide detailed comments to the factories.
- To action wear testing on relevant product, reviewing results to ensure it meets highest performance standards & allow any amendments to be made ahead of final PP/production.
- To conduct comp shops to support with new developments, bringing to the table new ideas on fit & performance technologies.
- Overseas travel - alongside team to visit suppliers & trade shows to support in the development of market leading product.
- Work closely with full product team on new style developments and collaborate to determine best fabric and trim combinations as well as appropriate specs.
- To help maintain the critical path with the product team. Ensure all timelines are met including tech packs and sample deadlines.
- Responsible for the day-to-day Garment Tech operational tasks, to deliver the goals and objectives as set by the Head of 247 – in line with the company vision.
- Independently plan and organise allocated workload in line with duties set by the Senior Garment Tech.
- Ensure that all tech-packs are of the highest standard(alongside PDs) and can be accurately translated by the factory into the best quality 1st Prototypes
- Co-ordinate regular communication with all suppliers, maintaining good relationships & understanding throughout. Including commination in chasing fit samples to keep in line with Critical Path dates.
- Support the Senior Garment Tech with any relevant testing and test reports. Approval of care labels for your product, communicate any issues and find solutions to any problems that may arise.
- Thorough checks of all samples submitted to ensure they meet Represent’s high fabric and construction standards.
- Work closely with suppliers to have sound understanding of all processes involved in the development of the garments, provide technical skills and expertise to ensure that all garments are fit for purpose.
- Ability to understand, recommend, and execute commercial construction solutions.
- Maintain & update the PLM system.
- Awareness of all factory shipment dates.
- Supporting team in sample management for meetings & photoshoots as required by the wider business.
Key Skills

- Appropriate qualification in apparel sector or equivalent work experience
- Excellent garment construction and engineering skills.
- Ability to measure and grade to a high standard.
- Sound understanding of fabrics and testing methods.
- Knowledge of pattern making an advantage but not essential
- Passion to constantly drive improved product & new development
- Demonstrate a pro-active approach to problem solving
- Strong commercial awareness with an ability to identify risk and confidently provide solutions
- Experience in a fast-paced environment
- Extensive knowledge of Excel, Adobe Illustrator & PLM.
- Hands on approach.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Open minded & adaptable approach
Experience

- 3-4 years Garment Technologist experience.
- Factory experience
- Pattern cutting skills
- Excellent garment construction knowledge
- Excellent communication skills
You might have..
- Branded apparel experience.
- Knowledge and passion for sustainability.
- Experience & understanding of garment/fabric test reports.
- Experience in 3D software for garment design/development is an advantage
- Sports/performance apparel experience
