We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Garment Technologist to join our team. This pivotal role is integral to upholding the highest standards of garment quality, fit, and integrity throughout all stages of apparel development and production.

As a Senior Garment Technician, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that designs are accurately translated into products that meet both design expectations and commercial feasibility, while maintaining the brand’s commitment to quality. You will also have experience leading the department and management of other garment technologists.

This senior role will take the lead on ensuring the fit, size, and function of styles from concept to final launch, working closely with cross-functional teams to bring high-quality products to market. The Womenswear Garment Technologist will provide technical expertise, take responsibility for garment specifications, and drive the overall garment quality standards for the brand. You will play a critical role in leading technical processes, collaborating with factories, and ensuring products meet both commercial and design expectations.

Main Responsibilities:

• Lead the Fit, Size & Function: Oversee the fit, sizing, and functionality of garments throughout the development process, ensuring they are fit for purpose and align with Represent’s high standards.
• Manage Size Charts & Grading: Provide accurate and consistent size charts with grading specifications, ensuring that all details are clearly communicated in the tech packs for suppliers to follow.
• Critical Path Management: Work closely with the product team to ensure all timelines are met, including tech pack completion, sample deadlines, and production schedules, while maintaining adherence to the critical path.
• Drive Product Quality: Deliver world-class products built and engineered to Represent’s high standards, ensuring they meet both technical and aesthetic requirements.
• Lead Fit Sessions: Take the technical lead during prototype review meetings, size sets, PP, and production sample meetings. Ensure all garments are fitted to the highest standards, gathering detailed feedback and providing clear, actionable comments to factories for improvements.
• Collaborate with Product Teams: Work cross-functionally with designers, product developers, and suppliers to develop new garment specifications and choose the best fabric and trim combinations that meet both design and technical needs.
• Manage Day-to-Day Operations: Oversee the day-to-day Garment Tech operations, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and in line with the company’s vision. Support the Head of Menswear and Senior Garment Tech in achieving business goals.
• Independent Workload Management: Plan, organize, and prioritize your workload independently, ensuring that all technical aspects of the garment development process are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
• Ensure Accuracy in Tech Packs: Ensure all tech packs are meticulously detailed and of the highest standard, providing clear instructions to factories to ensure accurate translation into high-quality first prototypes.
• Supplier Coordination: Manage daily communication with suppliers, overseeing the chase of fit samples and providing technical support throughout the sample development process.
• Support Testing & Quality Assurance: Support the Senior Garment Tech with any relevant testing procedures and the analysis of test reports. Approve care labels and resolve any technical issues that arise throughout the production process.
• Quality Control: Conduct thorough checks of all samples submitted to ensure they meet Represent’s fabric quality, construction, and design standards. Ensure that garments meet the brand’s functional and aesthetic requirements.
• Qima Approvals- use the software provided to approval all external testing reports and support on any chemical compliance approvals.
• Technical Expertise: Provide expert advice on garment construction, ensuring all products are fit for purpose. Recommend and execute commercial construction solutions that align with design and manufacturing feasibility.
• PLM Management: Maintain and update the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system, ensuring all garment details are accurately recorded and up to date.

Shipment Awareness: Stay informed about factory shipment dates, ensuring timely delivery, working in collaboration with the Production manager
